If I rent a vehicle, do I need to purchase additional insurance from them?
If you rent a vehicle out of the country, then you will need to purchase additional insurance through the rental dealer even if you have an auto policy with our agency. If you rent a vehicle in the United States and have a personal auto policy with our agency, then you have a couple options. If you have atleaste one vehicle insured with us with full coverage, then that coverage extends to your rental vehicle. So you DO NOT have to purchase additional coverage. If you only have Liability and Property damage coverage, (PLPD) on your auto policy with us, then you will have to purchase physical damage coverage (Comprehensive & Collision) through the rental company. But your liability still extends to the rental vehicle. For more information, please contact your agent.
